View Article  Hello spring! Original art by Laurel Moore

Yes, it's here I think bloggers!

Say goodbye to all those heavy coats and hats and scarfs! I really think it's here. I'm sure I've been lying dormant. Like a shrew or a mouse.  There is only one thin line of snow now, from where the neighbour's igloo lay. Very quickly the green grass began winning against the white snow, until only patches of snow were left. Then all the surrounding greenery was sopping with water, whilst it tried to drain away the heavy water left by the melting snow. Well, obviously it's a place of contrasts here, since the temperature quickly rose, I've never seen snow melt so fast. It seemed to be melting before my eyes.

All the sparrows are getting excited now. Banging around the windows and the house, crashing into our blinds like little crazy pilots. I've seen so many colourful birds, too. Not really sure what some of them are, either. Big fat red woodpeckers though, I know them.

All the primroses are putting on a stunning show now in the neighbouring garden.

Spring primroses.

What amazes me is that they look cultivated, yet, actually, they are completely wild. Every year, they scatter the garden turf in crazier patterns; battling the storms and rain and ice. Such brave little bursts of light and colour.

Here's a lovely print I did a couple of years ago of some wild flowers I found in the woods of Neuchatel, Switzerland. And around only $40 to you, too at www.boundlessgallery.com just because I like you.  I nearly always forget to advertise. But what a waste of all those colours your could have bursting inside your house.

I've just used an ornate frame here, to illustrate how gorgeous it could look in your home. Delightful, even though I say so myself

Wishing you lots of spring sunshine www.moorethanart.com  www.boundlessgallery.com  and www.originalartonline.com

Hello bloggers!

Here's a little shocked face for you, because my GOD where has all this weather come from? Doesn't the world know it's March?

These last five days we've had on and off blizzards, too; culminating in one foot of snow! Everything here in Fribourg, Switzerland looks like a Christmas card. It is too cute! But getting a little difficult now.

Of course our dog Axle is in doggy heaven. He keeps looking at us with bafflement, thinking: "why aren't they out playing in the snow!" Honestly, you can see it in his face. Every time we get up, his head gets up expectantly, from his resting place: which is usually his own sofa!

So it seems that our dog is deciding when the walks are, at the moment.

I was watching the neighbouring children play in the snow. "They're making a snowman, ahhhhh!" I said, watching the white landscape from the upstairs window. But, apparently Swiss children don't make snowmen. Because when I returned later, I saw it was actually a small igloo!! Honest! They had both crawled inside. Well, maybe Swiss children have a greater sense of self-preservation, due to the inclement weather. But usually, Fribourg doesn't get much snow, since we are quite low here.

Look at that poor little bird on our bird-table. Doesn't he look baffled? He is sitting on a huge chunk of bread, so his belly is starting to look a little fat for a sparrow. You never usually see fat birds, do you? Anyway, I was surprised to see him feeding last years baby bird. I didn't realize sparrows continued to be weened so long, did you? And only a few days ago in the sunshine, they were thinking friskier thoughts. I bet they're not frisky now. Back to survival again, I guess. Many of them seem to hide in that there hedge. But look, it's about a foot deep.

Enough of snow. What about art?

Original Weimaraner dog painting.

Gorgeous Weimaraner painting. My first Weimaraner, in fact. He's a cutie, too. I just like saying Weimaraner, because it's a nightmare of a word to say or spell. I've finally mastered it. It took a lot of tries though. This is an ORIGINAL painting available at www.boundlessgallery.com the premier online art gallery.

So fill your house with beautiful art!  I do. Thankfully I have a lot of paintings screaming for a wall though!

Hello bloggers. Are you all well??

Just returned from a week from England. Well, it started out as five days, then moved on to become a week. I'll tell you about it later......it's a long story. Anyway, I just love the take-off in the aircraft! It's so exciting: the speed and rise of the plane; it just always gives me a huge grin. Even though I hate heights. Luckily it was my first flight in the dark on the way back. And you get that wonderful false sense of cosy security that the staff sell you. You know, 40,000 feet up and: "would you like a cup of tea?"

"Yes, I'll have tea with two milks please!" I say, looking at the little screen again, which tells me that the temperature outside is -66 degrees! Just a few inches from my face, which would probably instantly freeze in that temperature!! Such a paradox, just like life, I suppose. You go in one direction, get a slap in the face, then try another direction!!

I always crave salads after travelling. You just feel so grotty and smelly and unhealthy. Or maybe that's just me! I also crave lovely fresh air. Luckily we have tonnes of that here in Fribourg, Switzerland. So, yesterday, I braved my first ramble down to the lake this year. We have a lovely local walk here, through some deep dark woods to the lake. You know, where the giant ants live? I may have told you before. Anyway, Axle was thrilled that I took such a turn toward his favourite walk. His bottom and his tail seemed to be wagging all at once. He got so excited he gave himself a sore paw. Not too sore though. He crashed into the water, irrespective of temperature; mind you his face did register shock! There's still a lot of snow on those there Jura Mountains. My husband said they had a blizzard here, in my absence. Then his hot-water failed, too. Not a good combination.

Saw lots of bunnies in England. I miss rabbits, you don't really see them here. I think they no sooner grow, than get eaten. But there were loads of bouncing bunnies. How very festive for Easter, too! They are really tame, when next to their warrens, too. They sit above their hole, looking so cute and cuddly. Then, as soon as you move, they pop down their hole, probably laughing through their snouts.

Here she is now, available as a Limited Edition Print. 'Woman' can be found on www.boundlessgallery.com and www.originalartonline for purchase. Only a run of 250 will ever be made. So catch her quick!

Don't ask me about food in England; please! Because I'll just start salivating again all over my sweater.

They had terrible storms in England when I left. The man on the television around the south coast of England was hanging onto a lamp-post in the gales. He kept losing his ear-piece, too. I hope he didn't get swept away!
