Hello bloggers and hello 2008! ![]()

What is it? Well, it's our Yule-tide log of course. Gorgeous it was, too! Look at all those red mushrooms and there's a chocolate spider's web. There was also a couple of marzipan pink pigs- but you'll have to take my word for that - since my husband ate them very quickly. He can't really eat sugar, of course. But he simply adores marzipan. I think you either love or hate marzipan. Which do you think I do?
We bought it from a little local Swiss bakery. My goodness the creamy icing was delicious! It was very light and unsickly, too. Unless of course, you ate far too many slices; which we did. Went lovely with a cup of tea though. The other thing the Swiss do well, is of course croissants: since we are in the French side fo Switzerland, this is what they do very well. My favourite is the chocolate croissant: filled as it is with lovely melted chocolate. My husband prefers the sausage croissants: or 'jambon croissants' as they are called here. Sorry to make you drool in a pool.........
So; we've had two lovely days of bright Swiss sunshine: you can always tell, I think, because my mood instantly improves. Gorgeous wall to wall blue skies and sharp sunshine on your back. Nothing nicer, for a doggy walk. Axle was of course in heaven, since he loves the sunshine too. He's been bouncing around, with a big smile on his face. And when he came back today, I found him snoring on his sofa, with all four legs in the air. Very funny Axle!
He's a very sweet dog, but he does look a bit evil, that way up: with his incisor teeth hanging out!
We're starting to get excited, because we're all visiting Orlando this spring. It will be my first trip to America, so I thought I'd give you American readers an early warning! I have a huge camera! Can't wait to take lots of photos. We do hope to visit the Everglades, because as you know, I just ADORE nature. I'm sure I'll be there, getting munched by crocodiles, while my family are racing around the theme park. Do you think they'll notice, if bits of me go missing? Don't say: 'that depends on which bits'! I believe there's an amazing hotel there at Disney, which has kind of a safari park surrounded with real animals. So; if you see paintings of wild animals from me in the distant future, I may be lying if I say I've visited Africa on safari. ![]()
Yes; I'm still obsessed with that one red apple in our neighbour's garden. Cos it's still hanging on for dear life. It's started to rot now. Well, since the sun was so great, I thought I'd create a fun photo for you, of my shadow pointing to the apple. What shall I call it?
How about 'snow black'??

That's fun isn't it? Can you see me pointing. Doesn't it look giant? That reminds me I've just finished writing a children's book with a giant apple in it. I've done all the funny illustrations, too. It's for the 3-5 age range. My apple looks enormous doesn't it?
Don't forget to eat lots of giant fruit and veg this new year! I don't actually like apples: but I force myself to eat them, against my will.
Oh, I almost forget I'll be listing a few new original paintings at boundlessgallery soon. So don't forget to take a peak art lovers, if you're not too busy finishing off the Christmas chocolates. ![]()
Winter View

I've grabbed onto this bit of blue sky and put it in my pocket. As a little insurance; just in case we get any of that freezing fog back again.
