Yes, it's still raining........

Yes, this character has no relevence, just thought I'd pop him in, on a very miserable rainy day: because he always makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too? I don't know who he is? I'm sure he has a name? If any Swissies know his name, let me know. Here he is, selling pizzas in a restaurant. He's very jolly, isn't he? We'll call him 'Jolly Johnny', for now.

I hope he didn't mind having his picture taken. He didn't say anything.......

Hey, there's a drop of sunshine spilling from the clouds. Hang on, I'm just going to chase it........

Back now. Didn't catch it anyway. Our garden is like a mire at the moment. It makes a squelching noise when you walk on it. Our dog has left a few little gifts over the cold winter. So tomorrow, it's poopa-scoopa day. Mmmmm, how I look forward to that!  My husband says " wait until they're all frozen". You can see the logic of that, can't you?? I think I'll follow his advice. Could be less gruesome.

I told you I visited Berne, the capital of Switzerland, didn't I? It was so beautiful, with all that European architecture. Let's see if I can find you a little photo, although the light wasn't great.

Hey, I forgot about this wonderfully 'pink' tram. I've never seen such an effeminate tram, have you? It made me laugh. You have to watch yourself a bit, too, because only trams and people are allowed into the center of Berne, so you have to keep an eye out for a pink tram coming at you from behind!! Can I write that?? Sorry, it doesn't show you much of the city, but the pink tram has all the lime-light. Maybe that's for the best.

I told you I'd be inspired to paint something from that day, didn't I? Well, I was. I did a sweet and rainy city watercolour painting. Would you like to see it, of course you would, what a silly question!

'Umbrella Days' Original rainy city Watercolour by Laurel Moore.

Hello hello?

What's happened to my painting? Has is washed away in all that rain? Actually, you can find it at www.boundlessgallery.com now. I managed to keep it dry enough there!

Isn't it sweet? I tried to capture the smudgy watery feeling of a heavy-rain day; where the cobbles are swimming with rain-water and you can barely see the horizon, except for the bright coloured umbrellas. I've called it 'Umbrella Days'. Hope you like it. It's available at www.boundlessgallery.com and www.originalartonline.com if you fancy a look.

Actually, I've forgotten how much I love to do watercolour paintings. I think I go through phases and I've just finished an oil painting phase. It takes  me a little while to get back into the swing of watercolours again, then I'm off and running, splishing and splashing again. It's certainly a lot less messy than oil paintings. I seem to get oil paint everywhere. I even got some on our new sofas!! So I have banned myself from sitting on them, without a throw.

I've just started a lovely watercolour of two adorable baby puppies. Guess which breed?? No, you're wrong. Just kidding, I can't really read your thoughts, not on a Thursday anyway
